This year, we're thrilled to welcome J. Terra Pasqualini to our esteemed teaching team! Born in
Minas Gerais and raised in São Paulo, Terra's journey with Forró began at the age of 15 when he
stumbled upon the burgeoning Forró scene in São Paulo during the mid-90s. Enthralled by the
energy and rhythm of Forró, he dove headfirst into learning the dance and immersing himself in the
vibrant atmosphere of the city's bustling Casas de Forró.
The rise of this new cultural movement sparked an evolution in the traditional Forró Pé de-Serra,
leading to its urbanization. It's this fusion of tradition and innovation that defines Terra's dance style
and serves as the cornerstone of his teaching philosophy.
As the visionary behind the first and largest Forró Festival outside Brazil, the Forró de Domingo Festival, Terra is not only a skilled dancer but also a community builder. He creates spaces for dialogue aimed at uniting influencers within the Forró scene to foster a supportive and inclusive movement. Since 2002, Terra has been based in Germany, where he is recognized as one of the key figures in spreading the joy of Forró across Europe. We're honored to have Terra Pasqualini bring his expertise and passion to our festival!
